Time of Eve Film Blu-ray Reaches English Dub Goal
posted on by Egan Loo
Pied Piper, DIRECTIONS, and Studio Rikka reached their US$50,000 Kickstarter "stretch" goal for adding an English dub to the Time of Eve film's international Blu-ray Disc release. The campaign attained this goal shortly before noon Japan Time on Sunday — less than 60 hours after the campaign began. The total stands at US$50,862 as of this writing.
With the latest pledges, the region-free release will include Time of Eve: The Movie with English dub, multiple subtitles (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish), bonus video features such as interviews with the main cast and director Yasuhiro Yoshiura (with subtitles), a 40-page English-language art book, and eight postcards for those who purchase the film through the Kickstarter campaign.
The 2010 film took the original six-episode net anime series and added new scenes, a new opening and ending, and a theme song by Kalafina.
The movie version of the anime is available digitally on the iTunes Store in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Crunchyroll has been streaming the original Time of Eve net anime series, and the English-subtitled Japanese Blu-ray Disc of the series was offered to U.S. and European audiences.
