posted on by Sarah Nelkin

The official website for the anime adaptation of ESE and Kiyohito Natsuki's Wanna Be the Strongest in the World! (Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!) manga announced more of the anime's cast on Friday.

The new cast will be joining Ayana Taketatsu as Sakura Hagiwara (bottom left) the main vocalist of the nationally renowned idol group Sweet. Sakura suddenly decides to become a female professional wrestler one day. Kana Asumi will play Erena Miyazawa (bottom right), the singer who competes with Sakura to be the top idol in Sweet. (Aki Toyosaki and Yōko Hikasa played the same roles in the manga's earlier drama CD.)

Rion Kujo (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, Ikki Tousen: Shūgaku Tōshi Keppu-roku) is directing the anime at the studio ARMS (MAOYU, Ikki Tousen). Rin-Sin (Queen's Blade, Ikki Tousen) is designing the characters for the first 30-minute television anime based on a manga from Comic Earth Star.

The anime will premiere in October. The manga version launched in the inaugural issue of Comic Earth Star in 2011, and the fourth compiled book volume will ship on September 12.
