Voice Actor Rap Battle Project Gets Fired Up for Round 2

The voice actor rap battle project "Hypnosis Microphone" held its first live event and wooed fans in November. Now the fledgling rappers are heating up the competition with "Battle Season," the next wave of performances that rely on the listeners' votes.
Battle Season was announced at the Hypnosis Microphone live broadcast and CD release celebration on Sunday.
The rap idols are made up of four groups of three, each representing a major district in Tokyo. The groups are Ikebukuro Division Buster Bros (Subaru Kimura, Haruki Ishiya, Kōhei Amasaki), Yokohama Division Mad Trigger Crew (Shintarō Asanuma, Shin'ichirō Kamio, Wataru Komada), Shinjuku Division Matenrō (Sho Hayami, Ryūichi Kijima, Kent Itō), and Shibuya Division Fling Posse (Yusuke Shirai, Sōma Saitō, Yukihiro Nozuyama).
"Battle Season" will start this spring and will include original merchandise, collaboration events, and karaoke tie-ins. The four groups will face off in a series of competitions to crown the "King." Buster Bros will face off against Mad Trigger Crew first followed by Matenrō versus Fling Posse. The winner of each of these rap battles will then face one another in the final battle. How do they choose the winner? That's up to voters' wallets. Battle Cards are included with the group's respective CDs and buyers can use these cards to vote for their choice.
The event also announced a collaboration with the music app "nana." A total of 10 tracks are available on the app.
