That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Voice Actors Look Back on Favorite Anime Moments

posted on by Kim Morrissy

The voice actors of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime attended a screening of the television anime's 24th episode “Black and the Mask” on March 17. The event was attended by Rimuru's voice actress Miho Okasaki, Shizu's actress Yumiri Hanamori, Shuna's actress Sayaka Senbongi, and Milim's actress Rina Hidaka.

Episode 24 tells an anime-original story about Shizu's exploits before she met Rimuru. Hanamori said that she was surprised when she heard about the premise of the episode. “I had never thought that I'd get to see Shizu being so awesome in animation,” she remarked. The episode was a great spotlight on Shizu's character, who had not appeared in the anime for a while.

The other actors did not appear in the episode, but they enjoyed watching and commenting on the episode together.

The actors discussed their favorite moments in the anime. Okasaki said that she couldn't possibly choose because she loved the whole thing, but when the others insisted that she had to pick something, she said that she enjoyed the early scenes in the anime after Rimuru was reincarnated as a slime, as well as his encounter with the storm dragon Veldora. She said that she enjoyed seeing the world through a slime's point of view.

For Senbongi and Hidaka, Gabiru's character was a standout. Even though Senbongi said that she enjoyed her own scenes with the ogres, the parts involving Gabiru that came immediately after were also enjoyable. Hidaka laughed and remarked: “Gabiru is strong!” She went on to say that all of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime's characters have a strong appeal.

The second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was also announced at this event. The voice actors were delighted by this news and insisted that they will do their best to ensure that the second season is just as fun and entertaining as the first one.

The television anime of Taiki Kawakami's manga, which in turn adapted author Fuse and artist Mitz Vah's light novel series, premiered on October 1. The sequel is scheduled for 2020.
