Jonathan Clements to present Seminar at British Centre for Literary Translation

posted on by Christopher Macdonald
It's on the other side of the atlantic, but we do have a few Brittish readers and the topics are so funny we couldn't resist: Anime Encyclopedia co-author Jonathan Clements is to present a seminar for the British Centre for Literary Translation, at the University of East Anglia on 30th October. The topic is "Highbrow Skills in a Lowbrow Medium: Translating Japanese Animation." The topics include "...maintaining professional standards when the actors have ten minutes to learn their lines, the director can't pronounce the name of the show, and the producers think you're an enemy spy."
