Fist of the North Star, Sgt. Frog and Kaiketsu Zorori Join One Piece, Gundam and Doraemon in Japanese Theaters
The first of the new Fist of the North Star movies, Hokuto no Ken - Raoh Gaiden Junai-hen and a Keroro Gunso / Kaiketsu Zorori double bill premiered in Japan this week, resulting in 5 of the top 10 movies at the Japanese box office being anime.
Fist of the North Star premiered on 214 screens and earned 112 million yen.
The Doraemon movie earned another 467 million yen on 317 screens, bringing its box office total up to 900 million yen. The movie actually made more this weekend than during its opening weekend, when it earned 433 million yen.
