Tokio Vocalist to Make Anime Debut in BONES' Stranger
posted on by Egan Loo
The animation studio BONES and the distributor Bandai Visual announced that 28-year-old Tokio vocalist Tomoya Nagase will play his first anime voice role in this fall's much anticipated Sword of the Stranger - Mukoh Hadan theatrical movie. Nagase has appeared in several movies and television dramas, but never in an anime work. The Tokio idol band has played the theme songs for several anime including Kodomo no Omocha ("7 O'Clock News") and BONES' The Skull Man, which will air April 28.
Other announced cast members in this samurai period drama include live-action actor Naoto Takenaka (Shall We Dance's Aoki, Rampo's title character) and Hey! Say! 7 idol group member Yuri Chinen. The main lead character voices from three of the biggest BONES hits are also collaborating here for the first time. Kouichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop's Spike), Maaya Sakamoto (Escaflowne's Hitomi), and Mamoru Miyano (Wolf's Rain's Kiba) have all signed onto the cast.
