Do As Infinity, X Japan Reveal More on Reunion Plans

posted on by Egan Loo

The former members of the pop music group Do as Infinity announced at the end of last month that they are reuniting. They will officially relaunch the band on September 29 — the ninth anniversary of the band's founding and the third anniversary of its disbanding. The next day, the members will hold their first reunion concert for free at an outdoor stage at Tokyo's Yoyogi Park. They will then focus on more concerts and plan a new release for next spring. Do as Infinity performed songs for Inuyasha, the live-action Uzumaki film, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and Zoids Genesis.

X Japan's co-founder Yoshiki Hayashi confirmed at a Monday press conference that his reunited band will still play at Paris on November 22, even though he has not fully recovered from his health problems that delayed that concert. He added that X Japan is planning Christmas and New Year's concerts in Japan, although the venue have not been set yet. X Japan has written a new song, and X Japan music will appear in the Japanese version of the rhythm game Rock Band. YOSHIKI is personally traveling this month to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and South Korea, and he is producing music for a film that will commemorate the 100th anniversary of filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's birth. X Japan created songs in the music video collection and later X movie, both of which were based on CLAMP's X manga.
