Anchor Bay to Ship Enhanced Ghost in the Shell Film BD

The ICv2 retail news source reports that Anchor Bay will release Mamoru Oshii's first Ghost in the Shell film on Blu-ray Disc this August or September. Oshii based the film on Masamune Shirow's landmark manga about a paramilitary unit that polices the blurred edges between reality and artificial constructs in an interconnected society. The new release will be an updated version with reworked computer animation. An enhanced Ghost in the Shell 2.0 edition with remixed sound and partially redubbed dialogue opened in Japanese theaters last July.
