Leiji Matsumoto to Debut Koshika Manga on Wii in Japan

Newest work from Yamato, Harlock creator to have English option in April

The digital distribution company Sunsoft has announced on Thursday that Leiji Matsumoto's Out of Galaxy Koshika manga will debut on the online Wii Shopping Channel for the Nintendo Wii home console in Japan on April 14. Sunsoft had previously revealed last June that this full-color space opera title will be an all-new, original comic from the creator of Space Battleship Yamato, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and Galaxy Express 999. The title will be the second Sunsoft Books comic after January's Princess Ai.

Like Princess Ai on the Wii, Koshika will have the option of Japanese or English text. The first chapter will cost 500 Wii points, but every chapter afterwards will cost 200 Wii points. No plans have been announced for distribution outside Japan, but Sunsoft says that the English version was localized for the English-speaking manga fans.

The story of Koshika begins in Tokyo on September 9, 2099. A dimensional ship, under the command of a beautiful woman named Yō Haguro, launches into space to save Earth from imminent annihilation. A young boy named Hajime Umino finds himself coming aboard for the adventure that unfolds. Secrets are revealed about Hajime and a silver cat pendant with an unknown power.
