Pokémon Wins Nickelodeon Mag's Favorite Manga Award

Hidenori Kusaka and Mato's The Best of Pokémon Adventures manga has won the Favorite Manga Series category in the first ever Nickelodeon Magazine Comics Awards. The manga competed against Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya, Kingdom Hearts II by Shiro Amano, Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto, and One Piece by Eiichiro Oda.
Naruto lost to Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney for the Favorite Graphic Novel award, and its Kakashi Hatake character lost to Calvin from Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes for "Best Hair in Comics." Jeff Smith won the Favorite Fantasy Graphic Novel award for Bone. Amulet by Japanese-American artist and Flight editor Kazu Kibuishi and Tokyopop's graphic novel adaptation of Erin Hunter's Warriors novels competed in this category.
