Gintama, Haruhi Suzumiya Films' Dates Listed in 2010 (Updated)

The official website for the Gintama: Shinyaku Benizakura-Hen (Gintama: Benizakura Arc — A New Retelling) anime movie has opened on Monday and confirmed the film's 2010 opening date in Japan. Sunrise's film adaptation of Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama alternate-history gag manga will debut during Golden Week, the string of holidays that stretches from the end of April through the first week of May. As the title implies, the film will depict a new version of the popular Benizakura story arc from the television anime series.
The schedule of the Cinecitta movie theater in Kawasaki, Japan lists the February 6 opening of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Shōshitsu) film. Kyoto Animation, the studio behind the anime adaptation of Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito's original Haruhi Suzumiya science-fiction light novel series, has yet to announce the official release date of the film.

Update: The Keisei Rosa theater in Chiba Prefecture has not only corroborated the February 6 opening date, but has also announced that advance tickets will begin selling nationwide on November 21. According to the theater, the advance tickets will include a special present, and more details will be made available on the official home page.
