Imagi Appoints Exec. Director Phoon Chiong Kit as CEO

Imagi International Holdings Limited, the parent company of the computer animation studio IMAGI, has announced on Monday that it has appointed one of its Executive Directors, Phoon Chiong Kit, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Phoon's appointment took effect on Sunday, the same day that Ting Chuk Kwan stepped down as both an Executive Director and the Acting CEO of IMAGI. IMAGI's last permanent CEO was Douglas Glen, who resigned in May. Glen was replaced by acting CEO William Courtauld, who was in turn replaced by Ting after Courtauld cited health reasons in September.
IMAGI's computer-animated film adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy (Mighty Atom) manga opened in Japan on October 10, and then in North America on October 23.
