posted on by Egan Loo
Toyama Governor Takakazu Ishii revealed during a Friday press conference for next year's prefectural budget that the anime studio P.A. Works is producing a television project called Mai no Mahō to Katei no Hi (Mai's Magic and Family Day). According to Ishii, the anime is designed to raise public awareness about the importance of family bonds. The protagonist is named Mai Tatsumi. The anime will air on the local television network KNB as well as on other networks in or around next February.
P.A. Works is located in the central western Japanese prefecture of Toyama at the city of Nanto. The studio's many other projects include True Tears, CANAAN, Angel Beats!, and the Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva film (as well as the animation footage in the Professor Layton games that inspired it). P.A. Works is producing a 10th anniversary project called Hana-Saku Iroha, and it co-animated a series of shorts for the Toyama Tourism Anime Project last year.
