2011 Thundercats Series Premiere Slated for July 29

posted on by Egan Loo

Cartoon Network announced on Tuesday that its remake of the Thundercats animated series will premiere in the United States on July 29 at 8:00 p.m. The series will then run on Friday nights at its regular time of 8:30 p.m.

Similar in some respects to the original 1980s animated series, the new Thundercats television series is being conceived and written in the United States and then animated in Japan. Larry Kenney, the original voice of the main character Lion-O, will voice the new version's Claudus character, while the comic relief character Snarf will be voiced in Japan. Studio 4°C (Tekkonkinkreet, Genius Party, parts of The Animatrix) is animating the project.
