Media Blasters to Release 1st Squid Girl Season on BD

The North American anime distributor Media Blasters confirmed with ANN on Monday that it will release the entire first season of Squid Girl on March 13th, 2012. The bilingual Blu-ray Disc release comes with all 12 episodes in the first season and is priced at US$59.99. A second season is now streaming on Cruchyroll.
While the entire first season will be available this coming March, Media Blasters is also releasing the season in two sets on DVD. The first six episodes of Squid Girl were released on DVD September 27. The second half the season was scheduled to be released this November but Media Blasters has pushed back the release to December 6.
Squid Girl (Shinryaku! Ika Musume) is anime adaptation of Masahiro Anbe's comedy manga about a Squid Girl who vows to invade human world in retaliation to the humans who have polluted her seas. Her invasion plans are soon foiled, however, as she becomes indebted in house repair bills and secombs to the beguiling Aizawa sisters.
