The Japanese government's Kanpou paper reported on April 11 that the production company Trans Arts filed for bankruptcy at the Tokyo District Court on March 30. Mamoru Kuroki co-founded the Tokyo-based company in 1967, and he continued to head the company up until the bankruptcy filing.

Trans Arts produced such anime as The Prince of Tennis television anime series, the Tennis no Oujisama: Atobe Kara no Okurimono film, and the Medarot Damashii television series. (Production I.G and M.S.C. produced last year's The Prince of Tennis: Eikoku-shiki Teikyū-jō Kessen! film and this year's The Prince of Tennis II series.)

Trans Arts collaborated with Production I.G on The Beast Player Erin (Kemono no Sou-ja Erin) television series, the Chocolate Underground anime, and the Loups-Garous film. It also served as a subcontracting studio on scores of anime titles.
