Sailor Moon Is #2 in July Graphic Novel Sales in U.S. Bookstores

posted on by Egan Loo

The sixth volume of Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon manga ranked #2 in Nielsen BookScan's list of top 20 graphic novels in American bookstores for July. Four other new manga books also landed in the top 20: Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto volume 57 at #3, Akihisa Ikeda's Rosario + Vampire Season II volume 9 at #12, Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight volume 14 at #13, and Yana Toboso's Black Butler volume 10 at #20.

The top-selling graphic novel was Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Batman: Earth One in hardcover.

The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Walmart, and some other venues.
