Sega Files for 'Miku Dayō' Trademark

Game developer Sega filed for trademark rights for the title "Miku Dayō" on September 24. Sega registered the trademark in both the "video game programs for home use" category and the "machines/devices for amusement park use and video game machines for business use" category.
"Miku Dayō" is the name of the human-sized character suit of Hatsune Miku modeled after the Nendoroid version of the virtual idol.
Sega has been developing the video game franchise based on the Vocaloid idol. The company released the most recent game, Hatsune Miku -Project Diva- F, on August 30.
