Kyoto Animation aired and streamed the fourth television commercial for Tamako Market, the upcoming television anime from the main staff of K-ON!, on Thursday. This is the first ad with animated footage. The tagline for the anime's new ad and the updated website reads, "That girl is the cute daughter of a mochi (rice cake) shop owner."
The ad and site reveal the latest piece of key visual art and more of the cast:
Daisuke Ono as Kaoru Hanase, the lovely "Florist Princess" shopkeeper
Kouji Tsujitani as Kunio Yaobi of the "Hoshi to Pierrot" (Star and Clown) record shop.
Kumiko Watanabe as Fumiko Mitsumura, the cheerful lady who runs the "Just Meat" shop
Hiroshi Yanaka as Nobuhiko Tokiwa, the "Tokiwa-dō" toy shopkeeper who loves to play the cup-and-ball toy with kids. He is Midori's grandfather.
Yoshihisa Kawahara as Tomio Shimzu of the "Shimizu-ya" tofu shop. He has a secret crush on the "Usa-Yu's" Sayuri.
Naoya Nosaka as Tadanao Shiraki, the quiet worker at the "Miyako Udon" shop.
Kyoto Animation, Pony Canyon, and TBS will distribute exclusive New Year's greeting cards illustrated by character designer Yukiko Horiguchi at the companies' respective booths at the Comic Market 83 event. The same booth will debut the latest promotional video. The event will be at the Tokyo Big Sight event complex from December 29 to December 31. The February issues of Kadokawa Shoten's Nyantype (shipping December 27), Monthly Animage (January 10), Animedia (January 10), Monthly Newtype (January 10), and Cut (January 19) magazines will all run articles on Tamako Market.
The website also posted more handwritten comments from the staff and cast.
The staff already revealed that Aya Suzaki (Bakuman., Manyū Hiken-chō, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness) will play the title heroine Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high-school freshman who is cheerful, spirited, and kind to others. She is the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi shopkeeper in the shopping district and a baton club member.
