Namco Bandai Files Time and Eternity Trademark in Europe

posted on by Egan Loo

Namco Bandai Games filed for registration on the trademark "Time and Eternity" in Europe on December 27. "Time and Eternity" is one English translation for the role-playing game title Tokitowa.

Namco Bandai producer Kay Hirono (Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa Hybrid Pack, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny) told the Taiwanese video game website GNN in August that there are plans to release an English version of the game. Ryōei Mikage, the CEO of the game's developer Imageepoch, had said in June that he is "holding the meeting of whether to sell [TOKI TOWA for PS3] in the United States." He then posted in July that the game will have "contracts soon [Localization]" and that "the project is progressing."

Imageepoch (Fate/Extra, Luminous Arc, 7th Dragon) developed Tokitowa as the "first HD animation RPG" with the anime studio Satelight (Macross Frontier, Aquarion Evol, Mōretsu Pirates, AKB0048) and the distributor Namco Bandai. Satelight is not just animating the key cut scenes (as many role-playing games have already done in the past), but also the characters' movements and battle sequences in regular gameplay.

The single-player fantasy game shipped in Japan for the PlayStation 3 console on October 11.
