Manga Entertainment Licenses Deadman Wonderland for July on DVD/Blu-ray

Violent action series about a future privatised prison.

Manga Entertainment has tweeted that it will release the series Deadman Wonderland on DVD and Blu/ray in July. It is based on Jinsei Kataoka and Kazuma Kondou's original Deadman Wonderland manga, which is set after the destruction of most of Tokyo by an earthquake. The story centres on Ganta Igarashi, a middle school student framed for the murder of his classmates. Igarashi is sentenced to Deadman Wonderland, a bizarre privatised prison that is one part incarceration and one part public spectacle for tourists.

In later posts on its twitter feed, Manga said that the Blu-ray edition would contain two discs, with an SRP of £34.99, while the DVD edition would contain three discs, with an SRP of £29.99. It also said it 'believed' that the OVA episode, 'Wielder of the Red Knife,' would be included; it also said that the Blu-ray master would be created by Manga itself.

The official website for the Deadman Wonderland television anime series streamed two advance promotional videos off Kadokawa's YouTube channel. The first video features the opening theme song "One Reason" by fade, while the second video features the ending theme song "Shiny Shiny" by NIRGILIS.
