Shiwo Komeyama's story of half-vampire/half-angel's quest to rid herself of mixed-blood curse
North American publisher Yen Press announced on Friday that it licensed the manga Bloody Cross by Shiwo Komeyama (Star Ocean: Blue Sphere). The story centers around Tsukimiya, a girl cursed with both angel and vampire lineage. She and another half angel, Hinata, take part in a struggle for "God's Book of Prophecy," an artifact whose power may dispell their mixed-blood curse. Along the way, they encounter pure-blood angels, a fallen angel, a half-angel human, and other factions.
Komeyama launched the series in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2009 (after an earlier 2007 Manga ONE-shot under her penname Aoi Mizuki). Square Enix published the eighth volume in November.
