Classic Samurai Parables Collection & 47 Ronin Get Graphic Novels

California publisher Shambhala Publications released a graphic novel adaptation of samurai Issai Chozanshi's classic writings. The 18th-century samurai wrote a series of short stories to teach the fundamentals of samurai life and martial arts. The Demon's Sermon on the Martial Arts: A Graphic Novel features art by Michiru Morikawa (Yakuza Moon, Buskers original English manga). The paperback book went on sale March 12 and is available for purchase for US$14.95.
Shambhala is also releasing a graphic novel adaptation of The 47 Ronin samurai classic on November 5 for US$14.95. The adaptation is written by translator Sean Michael Wilson and illustrated by Akiko Shimojima. Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo) and publisher/writer Mike Richardson have been creating a separate 47 Ronin series with Dark Horse Comics.
