Princess Jellyfish/Kuragehime's Higashimura Launches New Manga
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Manga creator Akiko Higashimura (Kuragehime/Princess Jellyfish, Omo ni Naitemasu, Mama wa Tenparist) announced on her Facebook page on Thursday that she will launch a new manga series tentatively-titled Meropon Deshi! in Kodansha's Morning magazine. The Facebook post also asked fans to guess what the plot will be based on the title.
Higashimura previously serialized her Omo ni Naitemasu manga (pictured at right) in Morning. Kodansha published the 10th and final volume in that series on March 22. The manga inspired a live-action television series last July.
Higashimura's Kuragehime manga inspired the 2010 Princess Jellyfish television anime series, which Funimation released in North America.
The combined 21st-22nd issue of Morning launched Sayaka Yamazaki's Siren manga on Thursday. The 23rd issue of Morning will launch Takashi Tajima and Takahiro Kochi's Gabachi!!! manga on May 9, and future issues of Morning will also start — aside from Higashimura's new series — Norifusa Mita's (Dragon Zakura) investment-themed manga Investor Z and a new work by Hosoki Roswell.
