New Tamako Market Project in Production

Announced before Kyoto Animation's Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! film on Saturday

The official website for Kyoto Animation's Tamako Market television anime updated on Saturday to confirm that a new project is in production. The announcement was first made before screenings of another Kyoto Animation title, the Takanashi Rikka • Kai ~Gekijō-ban Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!~ film, earlier in the day.

The original anime followed Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high school freshman and the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi (rice cake) shopkeeper in a shopping district. The 12-episode television series premiered in Japan in January. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America and The Anime Network streamed the series as it aired.
