Pokémon X & Y Get 1.26 Million Pre-Orders

The market research firm Media Create reported on Wednesday that the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games have received 1.26 million pre-orders in Japan. This feat sets a new record for most pre-orders for a Nintendo 3DS software title, topping Monster Hunter 4's 1.17 million. The 1.26-million figure does not include the set pack download.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will ship worldwide on October 12. The Pokémon franchise has been released in Japanese, English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Korean. As of March, franchise has sold 172 million copies in over 70 countries.
