PS3/PS4 game starring historical figure Sakamoto Ryōma to ship on February 22

The official YouTube channel for the Ryu ga Gotoku/Yakuza video game franchise began streaming a nine-minute story trailer for its latest game, Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin (Yakuza Restoration), on Friday.

The first scene in the video shows an incident that takes place on November 15, 1867, the day of Sakamoto Ryōma's death at age 33. The video also reveals that the game will ship in Japan on February 22, 2014 for both the PlayStation 3 and PS4.

Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin will feature a new "legendary Dragon" — the real-life historical figure Sakamoto Ryōma. Sakamoto helped lead the overthrow of the Tokugawa shogunate that led to Japan's Meiji Restoration.

The latest game in the Ryu ga Gotoku series, Ryu ga Gotoku 5, shipped in Japan last December. The fourth installment of the series was released as Yakuza 4 in the West in 2011.
