Transformers Voice Actor Seizo Katou Passes Away

Japanese voice actor Seizo Katou passed away on Friday at 11:40 a.m. in a hospital in Tokyo due to complications from bladder cancer. He was 86 years old. His funeral will be held on Wednesday morning in Tokyo's Itabashi ward. The chief mourner will be his wife Setsuko.
Katou is a veteran voice actor who began his career in the 1960's. He has played many roles throughout the years, including Ittetsu Hoshi in Kyojin no Hoshi, Kinnbart in Elemental Gelade, and Galvatron and Megatron in Transformers. He also played Hazanko in Outlaw Star.
His agency before his passing, Haikyo, posted a note about the event:
We are extremely grateful to [Katou] for his kindness during his life, and we make the announcement of his passing very humbly.
