Players can transfer character data from PS3, PC

The official PlayStation blog for North America posted a trailer on Tuesday for its PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The trailer advertises the PS4 version's special features, such as updated graphics, PlayStation Vita remote play, keyboard and mouse support, and the ability to share gameplay videos and screenshots online.

The PS4 version will launch on April 14, but phase one of beta testing, which will be available for PS4 users, will be held February 22 to March 3. Phase two will be held April 4-7. Players of the PC game, PS3 game, or phase two beta will be able to transfer their character data over to the new game. The transfer service from PS3 to PS4 will begin on April 11, and players who transfer will be unable to use their PS3 copy.

The game, which launched for Windows PC and PlayStation 3 on August 27, was announced for PS4 in January.
