posted on by Egan Loo
The main staff for the television anime of the Seraph of the End (Owari no Seraph) manga was announced on Thursday.
Daisuke Tokutsuchi is making his series directorial debut at Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Hōzuki no Reitetsu), after directing individual epsiodes of Attack on Titan, Guilty Crown, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and Xam'd: Lost Memories. Masashi Koizuka (episode director on Attack on Titan, Robotics;Notes) is serving as assistant director, and Hiroshi Seko (scripts on Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Zankyō no Terror) is supervising and writing the series script. Hiroki Shinagawa (Medaka Box) created the pre-production imageboard art.
The manga by novelist Takaya Kagami (The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives), manga creator Daisuke Furuya, and manga artist Yamato Yamamoto takes place in a world where an unknown virus has killed the entire human population except for children. Those children were then enslaved by vampires. The manga centers on Yuichiro Hyakuya, a human who dreams of becoming strong enough to kill all vampires.
Yamamoto and Kagami launched the dark fantasy series in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine in fall 2012, and Shueisha published the sixth volume on September 4. Viz has licensed the manga in English for its digital Weekly Shonen Jump anthology.
