Pretty Rhythm arcade game, anime franchise ended earlier this year after 4-year run

The January issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a Nintendo 3DS game featuring syn Sophia's PriPara and Pretty Rhythm franchises will debut in Japan in March. The magazine hints that Lala will be able to Prism Jump like in Pretty Rhythm, and characters wearing Pretty Rhythm clothes will be able to debut in the game of PriPara. More details about the game will be revealed in the magazine's next issue, which is scheduled to be released in January.

Pretty Rhythm and PriPara will also hold a joint event next month in Tokyo starring voice actresses from both franchises.

Pretty Rhythm arcade machines ended service in July after over four years, and were replaced by syn Sophia's new game PriPara. Players of the Pretty Rhythm game are still be able to use their Prism Stones (excluding hair and accessory stones) with the game, but Takara Tomy has ceased producing the stones entirely. The company has also stopped selling Memory Passes that allow players to save their progress at the arcade game. The final full-year Pretty Rhythm anime- Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live- ended in April.

The anime of PriPara premiered in July, and stars Himika Akaneya as 5th-grader Lala Manaka and anime song unit i☆Ris as the other lead characters. Lala first appeared as a new character in the Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection: Prism Show☆Best Ten film.
