Final Fantasy XV's 'Dawn 2.0' Trailer Shows Characters' Pasts

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Development team's location scouting video also shown

Square Enix began streaming a trailer titled "Dawn 2.0" for its upcoming Final Fantasy XV PlayStation 4/Xbox One game on Thursday. The trailer is an "updated cut" of the original "Dawn" trailer, and shows the pasts of the characters Noctis and Luna.

The U.K. version of the trailer features the same footage.

Square Enix also began streaming a video showing the development team's location scouting and research, alongside in-game comparisons of similar in-game scenes.

Square Enix originally announced Final Fantasy XV as Final Fantasy Versus XIII in 2006, until Square Enix changed its name in 2013. Tetsuya Nomura originally helmed the project, until Hajime Tabata (Final Fantasy Type-0) replaced him last September. Square Enix is currently developing the game, but has not yet revealed a release date for the game. Square Enix released a playable demo of the game titled Final Fantasy XV -Episode Duscae- bundled with the collector's edition of Square Enix's Final Fantasy Type-0 HD PS4/Xbox One game in March. Square Enix updated the demo in June.

Square Enix will host a special event in March 2016 where they will announce the game's release date.

Update: Updated with English location hunting video.
