Trinity Seven and Twin-Tail Released Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also second volume of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

Manga Entertainment will release the series Trinity Seven as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Sentai Filmworks has described the anime:

Things have been looking sunny for Arata Kasuga lately. Unfortunately it's been the wrong sun in the sky, and the mysterious Breakdown Phenomenon that accompanied it destroyed his town and stole his beloved cousin Hiijiri, leaving Arata in a fantasy world of his own creation! There's still a chance to save her, however, as the appearance of the Black Sun also revealed Arata's potential abilities as a mage, placing him in the powerful Demon Lord class. But first, since Arata and his newfound magical talents are far too dangerous to leave to their own devices, he's immediately whisked off to the Royal Biblia Academy. That's where he'll meet seven beautiful female mages whose powers are intrinsically tied to the same sins that Arata has to master to put his world back together. Of course, the tricky part is that they have their own plans for him as well! The lessons in sin are about to begin as Arata takes on the TRINITY SEVEN!

The anime adapts Kenji Saitō and Akinari Nao's Trinity Seven - The Seven Magicians manga. Hiroshi Nishikiori (Azumanga Daioh, A Certain Magical Index) directed the series, and Hiroyuki Yoshino (Magi, Vividred Operation) was in charge of series composition. Shinpei Tomooka (Sekirei, Day Break Illusion) served as both character designer and chief animation director. Kyoko Kotani also served as chief animation director. TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND composed the music and Seven Arcs Pictures (Mushibugyō) handled animation production.

Funimation will release a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack edition of Gonna be the Twin-Tail!!. Funimation has described the story:

Soji Mitsuka is an ordinary high schooler with an extraordinary obsession. Twin tails are his fire, his air, his will to live! But when a mysterious woman from another world enlists his help to fight hideous monsters with various moe fetishes, Soji much transform into a powerful pigtailed…girl? With the help of his childhood friend, the class president, and his endless devotion to pigtails, Soji and his crew form a twin-tailed threesome to take on the monsters who feed on the “attribute power” of humans. But Soji's new pigtailed powers come with a price; his surging popularity as the new heroin in town makes the twin-tailed trend explode, giving the monsters ample attribute powers to feed upon!

Funimation began streaming a promotional video for the complete series in March. The anime premiered in October 2014. Hiroyuki Kanbe (Oreimo) directed the series, and Naruhisa Arakawa (Outbreak Company, MAOYU, Spice & Wolf) was in charge of series composition.
