Saint Seiya Composer Seiji Yokoyama Passes Away

Composer Seiji Yokoyama passed away in a hospital in Sera, Hiroshima on Saturday due to pneumonia. He was 82. A funural service was held in Fuchū on Monday.

A native of Hiroshima, Yokoyama graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music in 1957 and went on to compose for numerous radio, television, and video anime projects. His work on the Saint Seiya television anime earned him a JASRAC award in 1992. His other anime projects included Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Magical Taruruuto-kun, Sangokushi, and many of the Saint Seiya films and original video anime.
