Crunchyroll to Stream Goblin Slayer Anime This Fall

posted on by Karen Ressler
Series premieres in October

Crunchyroll announced during its Crunchyroll Expo industry panel on Monday that it will stream the Goblin Slayer anime this fall. The stream will be available in the United States, Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America.

The anime will premiere in October.

Takaharu Ozaki (Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, Girls' Last Tour) is directing the anime at WHITE FOX. Hideyuki Kurata (Read or Die, Made in Abyss, Kamichu!) is in charge of series composition and is penning the scripts alongside Yousuke Kuroda (Jormungand, My Hero Academia). Takashi Nagayoshi (Girls' Last Tour animation director) is designing the characters. Mili is credited for the opening theme song "Region."

The anime will feature the same cast as an earlier drama CD adaptation:

SB Creative published the first volume of the Goblin Slayer dark fantasy novel series in February 2016, and the company published the seventh volume on March 14. Noboru Kannatsuki illustrates the novel series.

Yen Press has licensed both the novels and Kōsuke Kurose's manga adaptation, and it describes the series:

A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It's the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue--a man who's dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there's no telling who might come calling next...

Yen Press is also publishing Kento Eida's Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One manga in English. Yen Press launched the manga last September, on the same day the manga premiered in Japan. The company is also publishing the Goblin Slayer! Brand New Day spinoff manga simultaneously with Japan.
