Series stream in October, get home video releases

Sentai Filmworks announced on Monday that it has licensed the Outburst Dreamer Boys and Val x Love anime. The company will stream both series this fall and release them on home video later.

Sentai Filmworks' license for Outburst Dreamer Boys (Young disease outburst Boy), the television anime of Vocaloid producer rerulili's "Young disease outburst Boy" ("Chūbyō Gekihatsu Boy") song and Minato Tonami's slice-of-life comedy novel adaptation, covers North America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Nordic countries, Spain, Portugal and Central and South America. The company describes the anime:

Mizuki Hijiri just transferred schools, but her chances of having a quiet high school life shatter when she meets the eccentric members of the Hero Club! These “chunibyo” dudes and their youthful delusions of grandeur quickly sweep Mizuki into a world of outrageous hijinks and nonstop fantasy. Noda dreams of becoming a hero. Takashima, resident otaku, longs to date only 2D girls. Tsukumo fancies himself the school's master manipulator. And then there's Nakamura, a reincarnation of an angel… or a devil, depending on the day. Mizuki has her work cut out for her in the Hero Club, because while their delusions might be the stuff of fantasy, the trouble they cause is as real as it gets!

The anime will premiere in Japan on October 4. The anime will debut on Hikari TV at 10:00 p.m., then air on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m. The show will debut on TV Aichi, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11 later that night, before premiering on dTV Channel on October 7 and on AT-X on October 9.

Kazuya Ichikawa (Clean Freak! Aoyama kun, Bakugan Battle Planet, Monster Strike the Animation) is directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Midori Gotou (Hozuki's Coolheadedness all three seasons, Clean Freak! Aoyama kun) is overseeing the series scripts, and Yusa Matsuura (Clean Freak! Aoyama kun chief animation director) is designing the characters for animation. Satoshi Motoyama is directing the sound at Ai Addiction, and TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND is composing the music. Lantis is producing the music.

The anime's five main male cast members are performing the opening song "Chūbyō Gekihatsu Boy" under the group name Minakami High School Heroes. Nakamura is performing the ending theme song "Here comes The SUN."

Sentai Filmworks' licensing agreement for the television anime adaptation of Ryousuke Asakura's Val x Love (Ikusa x Koi) manga is global excluding Asia. The company describes the anime:

Takuma Akutsu has a “unique” appearance that, unfortunately, leaves him feeling isolated and alone among his high school classmates who shun him. Enter the Valkyries sent by Odin himself! Once they descend into Takuma's life, he discovers they aren't scared of him one bit! In fact, they're super keen to get to know him better. As the intimacy between the Valkyries and Takuma grows, so too do their powers. And that's a good thing, because they're on orders to slay the vicious monsters intent on destroying the earth. How far will they go to deepen their connection, level up, and save the world… by any means necessary!?!

Takashi Naoya is (Luck & Logic, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru, Real Girl) is directing the anime at Hoods Entertainment. Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko, Ms. Koizumi loves ramen noodles) is supervising the series' scripts. Kiyoshi Tateishi (animation director for Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie) is the character designer and chief animation director. TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND (Witch Craft Works, Kakegurui, Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san) is composing the music.

Rikako Aida is performing the opening theme song "for...," and the voice cast members for the anime's nine Valkyrie sisters are performing the ending theme song "Up-Date x Please!!" in groups of three. The ending will have three versions and change every episode. TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND is composing, arranging, and providing the lyrics for the ending song.

Update: HIDIVE confirmed on Monday that it will stream both series. Outburst Dreamer Boys will begin streaming on October 4 at 10:30 a.m. EDT, and Val x Love will premiere on October 5 at 10:30 a.m. EDT. Source: HIDIVE (link 2)
