Updates for MCM London, MCM Birmingham and AmeChibi Events

posted on by Andrew Osmond
MCM events planned in London in October, Birmingham in November this year; also AmeChibi event is planned in October 2022.

The MCM Comic Con event has made the following statement, confirming it has plans for events in late 2021 in London and Birmingham:

"...The forthcoming MCM Comic Con calendar of events will look different for the foreseeable future, due to COVID-19. Our main goal has always been to create a safe and accepting space for the community of passionate and creative fans...

"We will be focusing on MCM London on 22-24 October and MCM Birmingham on 13-14 November, 2021, pending improvement in the global health and safety situation. Tickets for these shows will be available online prior to each event, and additional information regarding the show format and safety measures that will be put in place will be announced in the coming months.

"This unfortunately means we currently don't have plans to run events in Birmingham (March), London (May), Manchester and Scotland in 2021."

MCM Comic Con also adds that there will be a virtual spring Metaverse event, followed by virtual events planned for the summer.

Also, the AmeChibi convention has announced on its amecon.org website that its next event is now due on October 14-16 2022, at the Park Inn Hotel in Northampton.

A message on the website says, "The AmeCon Committee took the decision to further postpone the event and will no longer run AmeChibi in April 2021 and have now formally agreed and signed our new dates with the venue. AmeChibi will be running 14th-16th of October 2022. All registered members have had their membership automatically transferred to the new dates. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in this current environment and we solemnly hope that October 2022 will be the last delay to the event and we will be able to safely run as intended."
