ADV Films Announces August 3 and 10 Release Dates

Jun 14th 2004
HOUSTON, June 14, 2004—ADV Films, the #1 producer-distributor of anime in the U.S., today announced its August 3 and 10 street dates.

SAIYUKI: NEW WORLD ORDER
ADV Films has set a street date of August 3, 2004 for Saiyuki: New World Order, the twelfth and final volume of this brilliant series.

The Saiyuki series is the latest manifestation of the 16th-century Chinese novel Xiyouji (Journey to the West) by Wu Cheng-En, which tells a time-proven story of a band of eccentric travelers bound for adventure. This intriguing anime is produced by TV Tokyo (Noir), Dentsu and Studio Pierrot (Fushigi Yugi). It also features beautiful character designs by Yuji Moriyama (Wings of Honneamise).

In the Saiyuki tale, a pistol-toting monk and his three eccentric companions are assigned the task of traveling to India from China to quash the resurrection of a sinister demon, encountering a few unsavory characters and experiencing a smattering of mishaps along the way.

The war god vows to replace the universe with a new Heaven and Earth, but he will need Son Goku to do it. So in the end, it will be up to the heretics who have suffered the most in this world to decide whether it's worth saving. Meanwhile, the forsaken Sanzo party struggles to carve their path, but they know a quest is all about the journey not the destination.

Saiyuki: New World Order (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release, including four complete episodes in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 language versions with English subtitles. Extras include: Saiyuki trailer, Japanese opening and closing animation, cultural background notes, production sketches, bonus poster and ADV previews.
