True Otaku: The Documentary Available On YouTube

FAIRFAX, VA – “True Otaku”, a feature-length documentary about American fans of Japanese popular culture, has been released in its entirety on YouTube. The film examines the dynamics, motivations, and varied expressions of otaku fandom. “True Otaku” was created by Cinema Show Films under the direction of independent filmmaker Jeff Clark. During its film festival run, “True Otaku” was exhibited as an official selection at Florida Supercon's inaugural Geek Film Festival in 2011 and at Phoenix Comicon's Film Festival in 2012. The documentary was filmed in the greater Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan region at Otakon 2010, Anime USA 2010, and Katuscon 2011.
