Kintoki-Con Returns for 2013 with a Growing Guest List in Tow!

SACRAMENTO, CA – November 6, 2012 - With the website active and dates set since September; Kintoki-Con is ready and steadily grabbing a large array of guests for its 2013 event which is slated for July 27-28, 2013.

Returning guests to the event include Voice Actors Richard Epcar and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, internationally renowned web comic artist Yuumei (Wenqing Yan), and performing idols Yukie Dong and Mari Watanabe.

New guests to the event have been amassing at a rapid pace; scriptwriter and graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang (American Born Chinese, Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novel series scriptwork), Udon Crew artist and creative director Long Vo, indie game creators Zeiva Inc. and freelance illustrator Kaze-Hime, and more recently added Aimee Lee Lucas of M.V.P who previously worked as a YG Entertainment choreographer and backup dancer. According to the co-chairs there are potentially 4 more guests that have yet to be completely confirmed; however very little details have been offered at this time.

ABOUT KINTOKI-CON: Kintoki-Con was first brought into light on June 17-18, 2011, in which it had a turnout of approximately 2,000 in warm body attendance. Due to financial difficulties that were unforeseen, they were unable to host an event in 2012.

Kintoki-Con is an LLC and focuses on keeping itself as a pan-Asian art, media and cultural event. As seen by the guest list above, it is trying very hard this year to keep its event as diverse as possible, and to show fans and attendees something beyond the already popular Japanese media (while still including it). They will continue to have both a professional/educational track as well as a fan track for panels and workshops.
