Hit Comic Tanuki to Kitsune Series Appears at the Frontier Works Booth at AnimeJapan 2026!

The series, with over 1.3 million copies sold, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and newly announced TV anime adaptation.
At AnimeJapan 2026, it also made its first appearance at Family Anime Festa, offering interactive content for parents and children to enjoy together.

Tokyo, Japan, April 3, 2026 - Frontier Works Inc. (Headquarters: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masahide Tsuji; hereinafter “Frontier Works”) exhibited at AnimeJapan 2026, one of the world's largest anime events, held at Tokyo Big Sight on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, 2026.

The centerpiece of the Frontier Works booth this year was Tanuki to Kitsune, the hugely popular comic series by Atamoto, which has surpassed 1.3 million copies in cumulative sales. The series is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its debut, and a television anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in October 2026.

Visitors were invited to fully immerse themselves in the world of Tanuki to Kitsune through an interactive booth experience designed to be enjoyed by both adults and children. Below is a look back at the event.

A “Play Together” Theme Welcomed Parents and Children into a Shared Experience

The highlight of this year's booth was its interactive content created for parents and children to enjoy together.

At the venue, visitors were greeted by a variety of photo-worthy attractions, including a “Fox Tail” photo spot, vibrant floral art, and a decorative canvas board installation.

In addition, Frontier Works hosted a social media follow campaign and a survey campaign, giving visitors the chance to receive a Tanuki to Kitsune fortune slip and a special giveaway based on their fortune.

One of the most popular attractions was the fluffy fox tail photo spot, where visitors could actually touch and enjoy the soft, plush tail. Its irresistibly fluffy texture made it a favorite among guests of all ages.

Tanuki to Kitsune Makes Its First Appearance at Family Anime Festa

This year also marked the first appearance of Tanuki to Kitsune at Family Anime Festa.

To bring the world of Tanuki to Kitsune to life, the event featured a coloring corner where children could color, cut, and paste charming themed items inspired by the series, as well as a photo cutout board for memorable pictures.

The characters also participated in the character photo session, a main event of Family Anime Festa. Many visitors stopped to take photos, and Tanuki to Kitsune delighted guests with their cheerful smiles.
