Tokyo, Japan
(April 21, 2026) – CREEPY NUTS, fresh off closing the Gobi Stage for two consecutive weekends at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2026, have officially wrapped their first-ever North American headline tour — marking a decisive expansion for the Japanese hip-hop duo from viral global phenomenon to proven international touring force.

The run launched at Coachella, where CREEPY NUTS were tapped as Gobi Stage closing act on both April 10 and April 17 — a rare distinction for a Japanese-language hip-hop act. During Weekend 1, they ignited the desert crowd with global streaming hits “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” and “Otonoke,” delivering a high-impact set powered solely by Japanese rap and championship-level DJ performance. The show earned recognition from Billboard as one of the “10 Best Performances of Coachella Day 1,” signaling immediate critical impact in the U.S.

Momentum carried into their first North American headline dates, beginning April 13 at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, followed by April 15 at The Auditorium in Chicago. Both shows drew ecstatic crowd reactions, with fans rapping entire verses in Japanese — underscoring the duo's rapidly expanding U.S. fanbase beyond streaming metrics.

Returning to Coachella for Weekend 2, CREEPY NUTS elevated the spectacle even further. Amid massive crowd singalongs, they delivered the world premiere live performance of their new single “Fright,” released digitally on April 10. The debut marked a defining moment of the set, introducing international audiences to the duo's next creative chapter in real time.

Fright,” written as the theme song for the TBS drama Toki Sude niOsushi!?, captures the emotional tension of pushing forward through fear and uncertainty. R-Shitei's introspective yet razor-sharp lyricism rides over DJ Matsunaga's atmospheric production, creating a track that balances vulnerability with precision. The single is already gaining traction across global streaming platforms, reinforcing the duo's sustained international momentum.

The North American tour concluded April 19 at Pabellón Oeste in Mexico City, where an energized crowd brought the run to a triumphant close. Across five major performances — including two Coachella closing slots — CREEPY NUTS demonstrated that their ascent is not built on a single breakout moment, but on live execution, cultural authenticity, and measurable global impact.

Beyond the stage, their international track record continues to accelerate. “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” has surpassed 900 million global streams and reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Global 200. “Otonoke” topped Billboard Japan's Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan Year-End Chart and, alongside “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” earned RIAA Gold certification in the United States — making Creepy Nuts the first Japanese act in history to receive RIAA Gold for two Japanese-language songs. In 2025, they headlined Tokyo Dome in front of approximately 50,000 fans and completed a multi-city Asia tour before making their Coachella debut in 2026.

With a North American tour successfully completed and new music already resonating beyond language borders, Creepy Nuts are no longer simply exporting Japanese hip-hop — they are actively redefining how it travels.

About Creepy Nuts
Creepy Nuts is a hip-hop unit consisting of rapper R-Shitei, a three-time consecutive champion of Japan's premier rap battle competition, and DJ Matsunaga, winner of the DMC World DJ Championship 2019. Their 2024 release “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” became a global hit, surpassing 900 million streams worldwide. Along with subsequent releases “Otonoke” and “Mirage,” they made history by becoming the first act to occupy the entire Top 3 of the Billboard Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan chart. In July 2024, they released “Illusion (Creepy Nuts Remix)” in collaboration with Dua Lipa, marking a major international collaboration.

At the core of Creepy Nuts is live performance. In February 2025, they headlined Tokyo Dome for the first time, drawing approximately 50,000 fans. That October, they embarked on their first Asia tour across five cities, deepening their regional presence. In 2026, they made their debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival — closing the Gobi Stage on their first appearance — and launched their first North American tour, marking a decisive step into the Western live market.

Creepy Nuts do not present Japanese hip-hop as novelty or export — they present it as complete. In an era where global rap often bends toward linguistic familiarity, they move in the opposite direction, proving that cultural specificity can travel further than compromise.
