Scandal to Release International Edition of ‘ECHO’ Ahead of 20th Anniversary

Japan's record-breaking rock band SCANDAL will release three international physical editions of their upcoming album ECHO through JPU Records on 26 June 2026, with the digital edition releasing simultaneously with Japan on 27 May 2026.

Each edition is available to preorder from today and will feature exclusive English-language translated content, bringing SCANDAL closer than ever to fans worldwide. Additionally, to celebrate SCANDAL's triumphant 20 Year milestone, JPU Records' website is offering a very special 20% off all SCANDAL back catalogue when ordered alongside ECHO.

ECHO features nine tracks, including the latest single “Girl is Ghost” and pre-release track “Strawberry”. All editions include the CD and a bonus booklet with lyrics translated and transliterated into English.

Limited Edition A includes the album alongside on-demand access to SCANDAL 19th Anniversary Live “Midsummer Killer Tune Festival”, a 14-song live performance recorded at Namba Hatch on 21 August 2025. The concert features English subtitles for all spoken segments.

Limited Edition B pairs the album with “her” Magazine Vol. 5, a 68-page publication translated into English for the first time. It includes exclusive photography, in-depth member interviews, and track-by-track commentary from the band. This edition offers a deeper insight into one of Japan's most iconic rock acts, exploring the themes and nuances behind ECHO.

About SCANDAL:

The band formed in Osaka, Japan in 2006 after meeting at a performing arts school. By 2008, SCANDAL had signed to a major label, going on to win Best Newcomer at the prestigious Japan Record Awards the following year with breakout hit “Shoujo S.”

Since then, SCANDAL have become one of Japan's leading all-female rock bands, performing at major festivals, touring globally, and featuring in numerous iconic anime series. The band has also made an impact in the fashion world with their own apparel brand, FEEDBACK.

In 2019, they established their private label “her”, taking full control of their creative output. In 2026, the band will release their 12th studio album ECHO, alongside a special 20th anniversary concert at Osaka-jo Hall.
