I have just finnished watching Initial D and I have to say that it is a totaly awsome anime, but I can only say that during the beginning of the anime, after that it I thought that it got a little repetative. During the end of the series the scenes are repeated so many times and the characters dont develop anymore. Other then that I thought that this was so cool at the beginning, I just couldn't stop watching it. The racing scenes with the 3d cgi was realy nice too, even though its old. Anyway tell me what you think of it.

Initial D is a fun anime to watch. I have only seen up to DVD 5 or stage 1, so...I can't say if it is always repetitive.
However going by the manga, there are some questions that I would like to ask as well. Why hasn't there been a Toyota Supra, Nissan 300zx, and honda NSX thrown into the mix?

I like the plot for I stage 1, but the 3D graphics are... eh... when they redo the graphics for Stage3/Battle Stage/Stage4 it looks much cooler =P

They're street racers... Supras, 300ZXs, and NSXs are on the higher end. Even the R32 GT-R is relatively cheap compared to those... and the RX-7s are well, owned by sons of a doctor =P Later (way later), Keisuke battles a R34 GT-R, but the R34 is technically 4WD and offers better control on a downhill than the heavier RWD Supra and RWD 300ZX.

The r34 that Keisuke races is a RWD rendition of the r34. At least that is what was said.

I haven't seen too far into the show, but I did like what I did see. Great plot and character development mixed with good animation and fast-paced racing scenes. I didn't know it went downhill.
Oh, and I'll save some of you the trouble:
"Initial D was awesome, but Tokyopop ****** up the dub!!!! Booo Tokyopop!!!!!!"

Well you do see some supras in the anime just lined up. But I actually think a 300zx would have been perfect for Initial D, since they have so many silvias. I also would have liked to see a 3000gt, but that really wouldn't have fit in initial d.

For a "sports" anime, Initial D really is a great one.
Having an actual street racer as an advisor really helped with the authenticity of the driving bits. The story really starts out slow, but picks up fast.
I'm hoping to get more Initial D eventually (I own the first DVD, but have seen some scenes from both First Stage and Third Stage, and can't wait to see what Fourth Stage looks like).
