Is Irresponsible Captain Tyler any good? I haven't really heard much about it other than from the encyclopedia.

I've never seen it, the ratings in the encyclopedia suggests it'll be good (it usually is right)

Oh, and DeepDiscountDVD has this for $54, so I'll preorder this from them instead.

Yeah, I read about this series in a book, Anime Explosion, and it sounded pretty good. It's looking alot more affordable now, so I'll pick it up once it comes out. The scary thing is, Tylor the captain might not even be the tactician Yurika was as Captain of the Nadesico. And yet he comes out on top. For that reason alone I have to check it out.

You can order it now, and your credit card or bank account won't be charged until around July 5th or when it ships.

DeepDiscountDVD.com ships it in advance so that it gets to you on the streetdate. I did the 2-3 day shipping, so they'll ship it on June 29-30, which is when they'll charge my account.

Tylor is my favorite comedy anime. I bought the original box, and won't think twice about plunking down the cash to buy it again. If you've seen Nadesico and liked it, you'll love ICT. It has a full quiver of my favorite Japanese VA. As all the extras seem to be in the original language, I cannot wait.

Triva Note: The Japanese VA's that play Justy Yueki Tylor and Yurika Misumaru also play Miroku and Sango in Inu Yasha.

I'll vouch for deepdiscountdvd also--I ordered the Scrapped Princess Limited Edition disc 1 from them for only $30--free shipping, and it even arrived on Monday, the day before its official release.

Yep. I'm getting this. Or to be more precise, my mom and I are getting it. I told her about this and she immediately went, "Get it! Get it!" She likes most things I watch, but there are a few that she gets really excited about. Tylor is one of them. Razz Sometimes it seems like she likes it more than me. Laughing I think it's a really good series, but she talks about it a lot more than I do... Anime smile + sweatdrop

If it hit the shelves of brick-and-mortar retailers and wasn't "limited" and I get a job, I'd consider buying it, though later rather than sooner (like Christmas-ish, maybe). I have the VHS tapes and it's a pretty amusing series with decent animation for a TV show from the early 1990s, but there's other stuff I'd much rather buy, like Planetes, so it's far from a priority.
