This Chobits Question is about Chi and the "special" placement of her restart switch.

Was it the on/off switch was for her to reboot ,and she is part of the Chobits seres(cant spell) so I think that what it means about the sex part.

I think it was down there becuase it's a place that normally is difficult to press. I mean if it was on a breast, she would reboot everytime someone hugged her or if she ran into a wall. I really don't see anywhere else to put the reboot button, unless it's up the a.... Also, what the hell is up with all those emoticons

i found this series dumb... i collected it but i feel dumb for doing so.
ending was lacklaster and the entire thing was very contrived. |

Yeah the reason it is down there is so they don't have sex, and it will stay pure, if they were to have sex all the memories from when she was turned on, till the time she had sex would go away and thus she really would'nt be the same Chi as before.

I think Venture Brothers did the same thing to. And I remember some comedy movie spoof did it as well... I always wondered if those things were real.

I remember seeing Robin Hood: Men in Tights as a kid and thinking "Why does she has metal underwear?" As for Chobits, the switch was probobly put in that area to cause tension in the story (or if you want to look deeper, commenting on the difficulty and awkwardness of a Japanese relationship) and function as a plot device later on. |

I am pretty sure that it said in the manga that the reset button is usually in the ear for persocoms. For the chobits, the reset button is down their to make sure they are pure. Also, since Chi was trying to find her one true love, the creator wanted to be sure that Chi's one true love loved her and did not want to just have sex with her. Lastly, the creator also wanted them to be unique and different from the persocoms; maybe that had some factor to do with where the reset button is on chobits.

So does the button remain down there even after their true love is found. spoiler[When Hideki and Chi finally kissed, I think I remember a bright light, was that the reset button "changing" positions?]

I don't think it changed because she is a robot and that can't happen in reality (even though it is a made up series). I am not sure, I think it was spoiler[that the program that was installed into Chi was deactivated because she found her true love-] I will try and check though- I was planning on reading the series again anyways.
