I just opened a new anime retail site www.animefix.com and would like some feedback. Please let me know what I could change and how my prices are. Please be honest I will not take offence and just want to offer the best product possible.
Bribe: Fell free to sign up even if you don't purchase. If you e-mail me with suggestion, criticisms, or compliments I will give you a discount on your first order. Thanks www.animefix.com |

Your prices are really good, and a lot even better than my local retailers.
Complains/Comments 1. You only accept credit cards. Not all anime fans have credit cards so why not use a variety of payment methods? Number one reason I only order from Right Stuf, they take money orders. 2. Searching for a title took really long. I was looking for Texhnolyze Volume 3, and lets just say it took me a while with your set up. Maybe a search engine, or having the categories by single letters. All "T"s in the "T" section and so on. 3. I like how your site makes me feel like I'm buying drugs. Pills, Pills, Pills, Pills, and more Pills are what I remember most from my 10 minute visit, I needed to sign up in order to check out your payment methods and shippings costs... 4. Shipping was really cheap, $2.50 for one volume, but it had a funny name. Personally I only trust USPS and UPS with my online purchases. 5. How big of a discount are we talking about? A measely 5%, or a good discount? I know my local comic book store owner, and he normally charges me $20 for each Special Order DVD I ask him for. It's kinda hard to get older volumes of Texhnolyze and other series in the area where I live... although Suncoast carries them at retail price, which retail price sucks. I don't believe this topic will last since you are just advertising yourself. Feel free to PM me if it is locked. If not, just post here. |

1. Yeah, I remember that 2. Would be really helpful if done 3. No, the theme is actually pretty cool. Reminds me of the merchandise that says something along the lines of "Anime, Crack Is Cheaper". 4. I didn't know that, even better. |

I really like how you have a return policy. It is hard to find people on the internet who offer a decent return policy.
Also I was thinking about buying your elfen lied Vol. 4 for $0. You may want to fix that. I like your prices too. I think they are fair and honest for a small business. I also agree with joel however that you may want to split things up by letter. It took me forever to find gungrave. I know I could have typed it in the search engine but meh. |

Send me the code too please!
The main thing that need work is there isn't any shipping info or anything. Also, you need deals and specials. It's NO fun shopping at a place without Specials and Deals! cough*Right Stuf and RACS* |

I don't believe this thread will be locked because the initial post follows Rule 9b of Teh Rules:
Since Anime Fix looks like a legitimate commercial website (and the initial thread was posted in the Retail section), it doesn't violate the rules. As for the site itself, it looks pretty nice, but I'm very weary of purchasing anything there as of yet. Personally, I'll wait a few months just to see which direction this store will go before I decide to purchase anything there. Last year, there was an on-line retail store called YAY Anime that offered basically the same senerios displayed here (good selcetion and service, competitive prices, etc.), but they only lasted a couple of months before they went kaput. How do we know that Anime Fix won't suffer the same fate as YAY Anime? |

The problem with waiting to see if a site will stay, is that if no one shops on a site for several months, then they would not have the income to stay in business, thus sending you back to the big names with their higher prices. I understand your concern, and to reassure you I have paid for adverting on ANN and other sites for a full year so I’m hoping to be around a long time, and even have plans to open a brick and mortar store in 6 months. So please support www.animefix.com. I hope to make you all valued customer for a long time to come.
Thanks Anime Fix |

Well I think you need an FAQ telling who you are, where you are located and the like. It eases concern that you are a fly by night operation or something. You should also probably add some basic shipping information. People often want to know how much shipping is before bothering to add stuff to their cart. You also should note that things are new as opposed to used. I didn't see such notation. Might also want to have deals to draw people in and the like.

You need to write more on shipping in the FAQ. Like Im from England so do you ship there and what are the options etc!
Looking Great though! |

don't use white text/black background... i did that for 3 years and as soon as I flipped it, my hits doubled in a month... sure it looks cool, artsy, edgy and that sorta thing, but the fact is that it really strains your eyes, and if a user needs to read a description of something and its a paragraph long, they'll leave. leave that color scheme to artsy fartsy sites... in retail, stick with soothing colors like whites, blues, and greens, greys even pastel yellows.
