Jump the Revolution is a special issue which as released last September.
It featured a number of one-shots. I don't know all the authors and titles, but there was also something by Ryu Fujisaki... and I think something by the Pretty Face author.
Nobuhiro Watsuki worked on "Embalming - Dead Body and Bride", a one-shot. The story also appeared as a bonus in the final (tenth) volume of Busou Renkin.
The story is set in the 19th century in Europe. It is based on the Frankenstein story, which means that with enough electrical energy you can revive dead bodies, or bodies that you sew together from various dead bodies. These beings are simply referred to as "Frankensteins".
The main character is such a monster, and goes by the name of John Doe. He is a mercenary and is hired by a girl, who had had her legs cut off and stolen by a local maniac (who commands over many Frankensteins). For his help, John wants to be paid in female body parts, however, because he wants to create himself a bride.
The story is pretty dark and morbid, macabre, and all the characters are surprisingly twisted. For Nobuhiro Watsuki, I mean, it is really very dark and gloomy. He usually likes positive, "good" characters, heroes, and happy endings.
But it is rather good.
