Well, the other day I was playing Super Smash Brothers Melee for Gamecube. I was playing as Marth (from Fire Emblem) and when I KOed Roy I taunted him. If you've never played the game, the taunts (at least for Roy and Marth) are in Japanese. Then for no reason I just thought "I bet Nintendo would be good at distributing anime in the US." They even included an option to change the game's language to Japanese in the English version. Maybe I'm just crazy but has anyone ever thought something like this?

Nintendo and 4Kids are butt-buddies in the anime business, I guess. They've already released Pokemon together, and the Kirby anime is forthcoming. Which I will watch devoutly, because the Kirby games are the BEST EVER.

..while I'm not sure I enjoy your dripping sarcasm ..
I think you're right. Look at Pokemon for evidence of exactly what 4Kids would do.
Early on, they added overlays and such, but there wasn't any real need for it, so by the 3rd season they simply dropped most of the overlays, and just stuck with script rewrites.
Nonetheless, they never included a Japanese audio track, simply because there weren't enough interested buyers. They included French on the Pokemon movie DVD (and, IIRC, spanish) because both of those language markets are large enough to support the investment.. but not Japanese.

I guess Nintendo's just better at games then anime. They add Japanese to their games but not to their anime. What a world we live in.

Nintendo is a great company, and I would not be against the idea of them handling anime, although I do not like their recent reputation. Latley they just have to many games pointed to a really young audience.
However, the old Nintendo Entertainment System is the best video games system EVER MADE (IMHO)!! Even though I really like my PS2 (especially Guilty Gear X. BUY THAT GAME!!) I own over 300 NES games. I will never speak to badly of Nintendo soley because of the NES (BTW, LB, Your avatar awhile ago was Glass Joe from Mike Tyson's Punch Out, you play NES?) Some of my favorite games are on Old NES, and there are even some really old anime games, like Fist of the North Star.
I'm inclined to agree that Nintendo and 4Kids have a pretty close friendship. Even though the Pokemon regime is for the most part over in the States, Nintendo still made alot off it, which can definently be accredited partialy to the features and show it entailed.
Although I am not crazy about the Gamecube or N64, Nintendo will always be good with me because of the NES. If they handled anime it would be somewhat interesting to see what became of it.

What sarcasm? The Kirby games ARE the best ever. Play a little bit of Kirby's Super Star. It is incredible. The RPG parody is brilliant.

Speaking of Kirby, I think they're making a new Kirby game for Game Boy Advance.
